Protective coatings, squeegees, cleaners and routines compared for keeping shower glass clear in hard-water homes.
Shower glass gets dirty because water carries soap and minerals that dry into spots and film. Protective coatings change that by making the surface repel water, so drops bead and run off instead of drying in place. They do not eliminate cleaning, but they cut it down. A squeegee after each shower removes most of the water and prevents most spotting, and it is the simplest habit that works, with or without a coating.
Cleaners matter too. Mild, non-abrasive cleaners protect coatings and seals. Stronger acidic products can dissolve mineral film but can harm metal finishes and coatings if used wrongly. Ventilation and drying also help. Glass that has been etched by long-term mineral buildup cannot be fully restored. We explain the options, apply coatings where you want them and clean glass that has built up film.
