Replace a dated framed door with a bright frameless one in a single visit, often without touching your tile.
An old framed sliding door is often the most dated part of a bathroom. Gold or silver aluminum, cloudy plastic or glass, a track that collects soap scum and rollers that no longer glide: replacing it with frameless glass changes the look right away. The upgrade also makes the shower easier to clean, since the frame and track are the places where mildew hides.
We start by removing the old door and track, then inspect the curb, walls and holes left behind. Because the measurements of a frameless door are different from those of a framed door, we take new measurements and may recommend a different layout, such as a fixed panel and a hinged door. After the glass is made, we fit it and fill, seal or cover leftover screw holes where possible.
We remove the old door, track and screws and check the curb, walls and tile for chips or movement before planning the new glass.
A frameless door follows different clearances than a framed one, so we re-measure and may suggest a layout change.
Anchor holes in tile can be filled or covered. We show you what to expect before we start.
Often the new door is installed in a single visit after the glass is ready, with little disruption to the room.
